Yesterday was a day of snow flurries with big flakes and almost no wind but cold, -2°C. Very pretty but not much of a snow covering, maybe just ½ inch and patchy.

Kinderscout from Milton Lane
The roads were clear by mid-morning so we managed to get to Outside at Hathersage. My winter plastic Koflach boots needed replacing, the inner boots disintegrated after our recent trip to the Cairngorms. Fortunately, I found a suitable pair of La Sportiva boots to replace them. Now I just have to break them in!

Kinderscout from the north side of Eccles Pike
Today was a bit of a contrast, heavy showers of light powder snow until this afternoon when the sun came out. Very cold though at -5°C.

Combs Moss from Lydgate
It left us with about 3 inches of snow everywhere and drifts up to 18 inches where the wind was blowing on the tops.
