We spent the whole day in Cambridge taking more photos with my Mamiya 7 camera and Jan took shots with her Fuji XE3. As usual it was sunny and warm!
I have new photos of Magdalene, Gonville and Caius, Emmanuel, Downing, King’s, Clare, St John’s, Churchill and Jesus Colleges from today and Christ’s and Sidney Sussex from yesterday. In total 13 rolls were taken on Ilford 400 Delta 120 film with 10 negatives to a roll. All shots were hand held as you can’t use tripods inside the colleges. I will add a few to my website once I have processed the films, scanned and edited them.
Fortunately my University of Cambridge alumni CAM card saved us quite a bit of money as King’s, Clare and St John’s all charge entrance fees. In fact it saved us £40!
Cambridge city and lots of the colleges were really busy. Huge numbers of orientals were very noticeable as they were often in groups of 50 or more, summer courses were starting at colleges too.
It also seemed to be the time for doing building work on the colleges. Corpus Christi and Peterhouse were both closed because of this.
Still, we enjoyed ourselves but we’re now ready to returr to the peace and quiet of our beloved Peak District hills tomorrow!
Before that though tonight we are meeting an old friend from Kenilworth, who works in Cambridge, for a pie and a pint.
Here are a few photos from today. I held myself back and didn’t take everything on my phone that I photographed on my Mamiya 7.
